My name is John Williamson, (known to my friends as ‘Johnny' or ‘Willi'). I am 50 years old and live in Lancashire with my partner Rachel. I started skydiving in 1979 at the North West Parachute Centre and to date I have completed in excess of 2000 jumps. During the 80's I started to compete in 4 way FS until the early nineties when due to work schedules I was unable to commit to any serious involvement in competition.

In the mid nineties due to a change in work circumstances I began to compete again and in 1995 together with three previous team mates we formed the canopy rotation team, Cross Keys Zero Tolerance. We disbanded after taking our final gold medal with a 12 point average at the 1999 British National Championships to pursue individual ambitions. I still actively compete but I am now behind the camera filming 4 and 8 way FS as well as big formation events.

Photography is also one of the roles in my current occupation which requires the delivery of high quality aerial imagery and in my leisure time when I am not skydiving my photographic interest extends to landscape and wildlife photography. To date selected skydiving images have appeared in a number of international skydiving publications supporting informative articles.
