A camera jump in NOT just another skydive.
Buying a camera and mounting it to a helmet does not automatically qualify you as a camera person and although I've been specialising in flying camera for over ten years I only consider myself an accomplished FS / CF camera man who is still learning his trade.
The addition of cameras during a skydive increase the risk of distraction or circumstances developing that are beyond your control which may lead to injury or death. However, with knowledge training and planning we can reduces the risk but as with all elements of skydiving, no skydive is risk free.
The following articles have been produced as a response to a variety of questions that I have been asked over the years and is designed to pass on some of the techniques and skills that I have learnt as well as advice that I've received over the years from my peers.
The information within the articles is not intended to be an exhaustive or comprehensive guide to competitive camera flying but should provide a foundation for those wishing to develop their camera flying skills supported by the appropriate training from qualified or experienced camera personnel.
